The performance The Weight of Balloons explores what women endure - both literally and metaphorically. Inspired by Maria Kalman, Franziska Schutzbach, and artworks from various eras, Linda Heller of the Merge Dance Collective investigates the ambivalence between strength and exhaustion. What burdens do women choose to carry, and which are imposed upon them? In dialogue with artificial intelligence, she critically, humorously, and physically examines female perception and how it is unsettled within a patriarchal system.
